Volkswagen's new commercial vehicle : eT!,

The car has been designed to make driving easier and deliveries quicker. Also incorporated are zero emissions, semi-automatic driving functions and new technologies, besides appeal.

Volkswagen conducted in depth studies of courier vehicles and customers’ needs before eT! took concrete shape. Volkswagen Group Research Director Jürgen Leohold said, “To attain these goals, our teams not only looked towards the future from the past, but also worked from a future perspective to implement an advanced development concept based on technologies available today,”

The new vehicle features revolutionary concepts such as ‘follow me’, that enable the car to follow the delivery person from house to house and ‘come to me’, which enables the car to return to the owner on command, driverlessly! Its electrically powered transporter puts e-mobility to commercial use. The driver can also operate the vehicle from the passenger’s side with the help of a ‘drive stick’. On the passenger side is an electrically opening sliding door that opens in two stages, making it easier and faster for delivery persons to move faster and also makes walking around to the driver’s seat obsolete.

The eT! concept unveiled at the Design Centre of Potsdam has been specially designed for delivery of mail shipments. Another innovation from the Wolfsburg based company that has made its presence felt in the commercial vehicle sector for 60 years.
